BOOK A RLS
Hi! I'm Tansina, or Sina for short, and I recently turned 18! I graduated from The Bronx High School of Science, and will be attending Baruch College. As a full-fledged adult, I realized I'd gathered up enough caretaking experience from raising my younger siblings to write down 10 years of work on my resume. Aside from the eldest sibling duties, I decided to take on teaching kids of all ages as a challenge at my local library. It was there that I decided I want to create my own stories and invent worlds that people would want to escape to, so I started publishing my own webcomic. Drawing and writing took over my life and finally gave me a pathway that was once an uncertain future. I know what it's like to not have the same opportunities as some of my peers may have, but just one push was all I needed to start my own journey doing something I love. I hope to do the same for those that need that extra little push.
Hi! My name is Sophia and I am currently a student at the College of Staten Island double majoring in English 7-12 Education and Women's Gender and Sexuality Studies. My dream job is to be a teacher and provide students with a comfortable space to encourage learning and growth and provide them with critical thinking skills that can be applied in all aspects of a student's life, not just in a classroom. I have interned with the Museum of Jewish Heritage - A Living Memorial to the Holocaust - as a lead tour guide as well as an assistant tour guide at the Children's Museum of the Arts. I love creative forms of art! Dancing, writing, sketching, and painting are some of my chosen forms of creative expression that I am passionate about. I also am a reader, and my favourite genre of literature is young adult fiction.
Hi! My name is Sam Backner and I am a senior graduating this semester from Binghamton University. I am from Brooklyn, NY, and am living at home finishing up school online now. I will be free to tutor this spring most weekday mornings and afternoons, and love working with kids. I tutored at Binghamton High School last year, working with students on all subjects they needed assistance with. I have experience as a tennis camp counselor for 5 plus years, as well as working with students at the Brooklyn Public Library. I am passionate about education and policy, and am planning to pursue a master's degree in public policy eventually. I look forward to working with students on their remote learning this semester!
My name is Rochelle and I am a graduate of Wheaton College (MA) '18. I am currently applying to medical school and am looking for more ways to get involved with my community. My past experience with formal tutoring involves an internship at an after school program during sophomore year of undergraduate. I worked with students aged 8-12 with homework in subjects ranging from spelling to biology. I have also tutored students from grades 1 through 4 at Sylvan Heights Charter School in Harrisburg, PA when I worked as an office assistant. For both experiences, I helped the children with whatever homework they had at the time. Some things that I am passionate about include basketball, getting active, dancing, and anything music related. I am also passionate about getting more students excited for the seemingly overwhelming STEM subjects.

It's my favorite pastime and even with my hectic college student schedule, I try to read everyday. I'm also interested in streetwear, avant garde makeup, and abstract art, I'm excited to get to know you not only as a tutor, but as a guide.

I recently graduated from LaGuardia High School, and will be pursuing a BFA in theatre at Emerson College (with a minor in Communication Disorders) next year. Some of my other passions include playing the guitar and algebra. I can’t wait to connect with you!
Hi! My name is Allie Von Spreckelsen. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. I recently graduated from the IB program at Brooklyn Prospect Charter school, and will be attending American University. I've worked with kids much of my teenage years whether it be tutoring at my school, or babysitting. I'm passionate about social justice and may (I haven't decided yet) go to law school! Although times are pretty uncertain, I look forward to meeting students who are as eager to learn as I am to educate!
